Empowering Women and Educating Children

The People's Foundation for Humanity Development (PeFoHD)
Welcome to The People's Foundation for Humanity Development (PeFoHD), where we believe in the power of education to change lives. Our organization is dedicated to training and empowering women and providing vulnerable children with the support they need to succeed. Through our developmental training and educational programs, we hope to create a world where every child has access to quality education and every woman can achieve her full potential. Join us in our mission to create a brighter future for the children and women of Sierra Leone.
Who We Are

Our Roots
At Peoples Foundation for Humanity Development (PeFoHD), we are passionate about empowering people and creating a brighter future for all. Our organization was established in October 2009 as the Dr. Lauretta Will Education Foundation, and later changed to PeFoHD to expand and accommodate more demographical programs. We believe in promoting education and gender equality, and currently operate two sectoral programs - WIMI (Women In Ministry International) and DCA Destiny Christian Academy. We are proud of the work we have done so far, but we know there is still much to be done.
Ways We Help
The Focus of Our Efforts
Furthering our cause is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to support, empower, and provide high quality resources to the Sierra Leone community. Our success isn't measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the value we provide to those we serve. Learn more about what we do below.
Gender Empowerment
Our Gender Empowerment program, Women in Ministry International (WIMI), is dedicated to empowering women and young girls through business skills, financial literacy, and other community development initiatives. Our program has already successfully trained and empowered many women, and coordinated dozens of women’s group projects in Sierra Leone. We are currently concentrated in Kenema, Bo, and Moyamba Districts and are committed to expanding our programs to help women and girls achieve their full potential.

Education
With our Education program, we’re committed to making education accessible to children in underprivileged areas. Our non-profit organization runs Destiny Christian Academy, an elementary school located in Moseilolo Village, Moyamba District. With our Out-of-School Dropout program, Destiny Remedial Education Programme (DREP), we’re able to provide remedial and skills training for drop-out teens. Our academy and program have already impacted the lives of 600 children in the area, and we hope to further our reach in the future.
Welcome to the heart of our community! We believe in the power of collective action to drive positive change. Join us in making a difference in the lives of those we serve. There are plenty of ways you can get involved and contribute to our cause. Whether you're passionate about advocacy, volunteering your time, or spreading awareness, there's a place for you here.
